Terms of Service

Last updated: 30 July 2026

Please read these terms carefully. They explain that you are responsible for the material you upload and its copyright, and that AI-generated content may be wrong and is used at your own risk.

1. Agreement to these terms

By creating an account or using Examly (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Examly is a free, personal learning tool. You upload documents you own or are authorized to use, and Examly organizes them into concepts and offers AI-assisted study aids.

2. Who can use Examly

You must be old enough to consent to the processing of your personal data where you live. In India that means 18; if you are younger, you may use Examly only with your parent or guardian's agreement, and they accept these Terms on your behalf.

If you use the Service on behalf of a school, coaching institute or other organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.

3. Your content and copyright (your responsibility)

You keep ownership of the documents and materials you upload ("Your Content"). Examly does not claim ownership of them.

You are solely responsible for Your Content and for having the right to upload and process it. By uploading, you represent and warrant that:

  • you own Your Content, or you have all rights, licenses, consents and permissions needed to upload it and have it processed by the Service;
  • uploading and processing Your Content does not infringe any copyright, trademark, trade secret, privacy, or other right of any person or entity, and does not violate any license or agreement that governs your material;
  • you will not upload any material you are not authorized to use, including copyrighted books, papers, or content you do not have permission to reproduce or process.

Each time you import a file, you confirm that you have the right to upload it. Examly does not review, verify, or police the rights to uploaded material. We rely entirely on your representations above. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with applicable law and any licenses that apply to your materials.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Examly and its operators are not responsible or liable for the files you import (including PDFs) or for any copyright or other intellectual-property issues arising from material you upload. That responsibility is yours alone.

You grant Examly a limited license to store, copy, process, and transform Your Content solely to provide the Service to you (for example: extracting text, organizing it into concepts, linking concepts, and generating study aids on your request).

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Examly and its operators from any claim, demand, loss, or liability (including copyright and other intellectual-property claims, and reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content or your breach of these Terms.

4. AI-generated content and third-party AI providers

Examly uses third-party artificial-intelligence models to extract and organize text and to generate summaries, key points, practice questions, worked solutions, and tutor responses. These providers may include, and may change over time, services such as MiniMax, OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, and DeepSeek. You may also choose to supply your own provider API keys.

AI output is generated automatically and is not reviewed by a human. It may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, or misleading, and it may misread or misrepresent your source material (including math, symbols, and figures).

AI features are provided for study assistance only. They are not professional, academic, legal, medical, or financial advice.

You are responsible for independently checking any AI-generated content against your original material and authoritative sources before relying on it. Do not rely on it for exams, submissions, or any decision without verifying it yourself.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Examly and its operators are not responsible or liable for the outputs of any AI model, for the conduct or data practices of third-party AI providers, or for any loss arising from your reliance on AI-generated content. We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of any AI output.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to upload, store, or process any content that is illegal, infringing, or that you are not authorized to use.

You agree not to attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or misuse the Service, or to use it to violate the rights of others or any applicable law.

6. Study rooms and community conduct

Study rooms are shared spaces. What you post in one is visible to its other members, and you are responsible for it.

In study rooms you agree not to:

  • harass, bully, threaten, or abuse other members, or post hateful content;
  • post sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate material (remember that many members are school students);
  • share your own or anyone else's personal contact details, and never solicit them from another member;
  • spam, advertise, or share pirated material or exam papers you are not entitled to distribute;
  • impersonate anyone, including Examly staff.

Messages are screened automatically before they post, and members can report content. We may remove content, mute or suspend a member's access to study rooms, or close a room, where we consider these rules to have been broken. We keep a record of reports and of the actions we take.

7. Accounts

You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Account settings. Your account is deactivated immediately and permanently deleted 14 days later; until then you can cancel using the link we email you. You can also ask us for a copy of your data before you go. What is deleted, what is kept, and for how long, is set out in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe your use of the Service puts other users or the Service itself at risk. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right; for serious breaches we may act immediately.

We may also discontinue the Service, or any part of it. If we do, we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your data, unless circumstances make that impossible.

Sections that by their nature should survive (your content representations and indemnity, the disclaimers, the limitation of liability, and governing law) continue to apply after your account ends.

9. Service provided "as is"

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Examly and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service, Your Content, or any AI-generated content, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Because the Service is provided free of charge, to the fullest extent permitted by law our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for it, which is zero.

11. Your privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, who processes it on our behalf, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it, including access, correction, export and deletion. It forms part of these Terms, and it is linked at the bottom of this page.

12. Complaints and grievances

If something about the Service or the way we handle your data is wrong, tell us and we will look into it. For complaints about personal data, you can contact our Grievance Officer:

Grievance Officer, Examly · grievance@examly.ink · Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India

We acknowledge grievances within 72 hours and aim to resolve them within 30 days. If you are in India and are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of the Service.

Nothing here takes away any right you have under the consumer or data-protection law of the country you live in, including the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us. Most problems are quicker to fix that way.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will make a reasonable effort to tell you directly.

15. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@examly.ink.

You can also reach us through the contact page, linked below. It goes to the same place and you don't need an account to use it.
